Cost (Grade II-III Routes): $350 for 1:1, $500 for 2:1 (per day)

Cost (Grade IV-V Routes): $395 for 1:1, $550 for 2:1 (per day)

General Information

The Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is one of Colorado's finest multi-pitch adventure climbing destinations. Located between the towns of Montrose and Gunnison, Colorado, no other canyon in North America combines the narrow opening, sheer walls, and humbling depths found in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Simply stated, the Black is one of the most awe-inspiring climbing destinations in the world. It also happens to be blessed with a fine selection of classic climbs at accessible grades, and offers climbers the unique experience of descending into the canyon, prior to climbing one of it's routes. Commitment, therefore, is an essential ingredient in a successful day of climbing at the Black.

Prerequisites: Participants need to possess a solid foundation of rock climbing skills. You should feel comfortable following traditional routes rated as high as 5.10, and be in excellent physical condition. Give us a call prior to booking your trip to let us help you determine an itinerary at the Black that suits your climbing level.

Trip Cost Includes: Guiding and instruction, all technical climbing gear (ropes, harness, helmet, etc.). Rock climbing shoes are available to rent.

Not Included: Entrance and camping fees at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. $40 transportation charge for trips less than 2 days. 3% land use surcharge, 7.5% Sales tax on rental equipment, trip cancellation insurance, personal climbing or camping equipment, or gratuities.

Registration and Cancellation: You will need to fill out our Domestic Registration Form, cancellation policy agreement, and liability waiver, and send it to us with a 50% deposit as early as possible prior to the trip date.
